BMW Isetta will be sold under two brands

The BMW Isetta is an iconic model that will soon be revived with modern technology. In 2020-2021, it is planned to release two electric cars based on the legendary car. They will be sold under two brands: Microlino and Artega.

In 2018, the Swiss manufacturer Micro Mobility Systems AG presented to the public the original Microlino car, which, in fact, is an ATV. As a prototype, the iconic model of the 50s of the BMW Isetta was used. The first copies were supposed to hit the market in 2018, but the Swiss did not have business with partners. After that, the choice fell on the German Artega, but this is also a failure: the companies did not agree and decided to produce the car separately.

The reason for the conflict is the inability to come to a common denominator on the issue of design. According to rumors, one of the manufacturers wanted to keep almost all the features of the BMW Isetta, while the other wanted to make drastic changes. The case did not come to court proceedings, and the companies dispersed peacefully. Former partners decided that both options would be useful to buyers.

Dates of release of cars differ. Artega will be released in April 2020, and Microlino will be available in 2021.

The Artega model will cost the buyer $17995. The car will be equipped with an 8 kWh battery with a range of 120 km. The maximum speed is 90 km/h. There is still no detailed description of the technical characteristics. It is known that the buyer needs to make an advance payment of 2500 euros.

The basic version of Microlino is cheaper: from 12000 euros. A more powerful model with a 2500 kWh battery for 14,4 km costs 200 euros more. Prepayment - 1000 euros.
