First exposure to the open-top version of the futuristic BMW hybrid model
The BMW i8 is undoubtedly a car that will never go unnoticed. Few even supersport models manage to get more attention than the avant-garde aluminum-carbon plug-in hybrid from Munich.
Is there a way to make a car, whose appearance and design defines it as futuristic with civilian road clearance rather than a standard production model, become an even more powerful magnet for the public eye? Obviously, there is - and so the coupe with "winged" doors turned into a roadster with "winged doors".

The feeling that you are in the cockpit of this car, traveling along the coastal road, whether you are driving or as a passenger, is like shooting a movie. There are no two opinions about the fact that driving a convertible always causes special emotions, but here we are talking about something else - and much more powerful.
The wind in your hair, the closeness to nature, the opportunity to look at the world in a more pleasant and colorful way - this is what makes traveling on the i8 Roadster unique in its kind. Sitting literally a foot off the ground in the cockpit of this roadster, you feel like you're in a racing car that somehow appeared from somewhere in the future.
The people you meet along the way, whether they are drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, or just people who take the time to relax in a sitting or lying position, obviously perceive the i8 Roadster in exactly the same way - as if an object suddenly appeared in front of them scientifically -fantastic movie.
15 second show
The procedure for opening and closing the electric textile roof takes exactly 15 seconds and can be performed at speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour by holding a small button hidden under the cover at the rear of the center console. Getting in and out of the car, as in the closed version, requires a lot of skill.
The improved battery allows you to increase your mileage entirely on electricity, which in real conditions easily reaches a value of about 40 kilometers. Eco and Comfort modes are available to the driver, and if you want more sporty feeling, you just need to move the joystick on the transmission to the left.
Although objectively with its relatively narrow tires, the i8 Roadster is undoubtedly dynamic, but not quite sporty in the classic sense of the word - here the overall concept is radically different from everything else that the Bavarian brand offers, and this makes the model extremely valuable in itself.
