2000 horsepower for the Norwegian Huracan

The Zyrus project also envisions 12 "regular" vehicles.

Norwegian company Zyrus Engineering surprised fans of super-powerful supercars with its 1200-horsepower version of the Huracan, which appeared on tests at Spa and Nurburgring. The incredibly powerful prototype marks the start of series production of 24 vehicles, 12 of which will be road approved. And 12-track cars will be available in two more power options: 1600 and 2000 horsepower. It should be noted that the evolution of the Huracan in the hands of the company was influenced by the participation of Zyrus in the Norwegian Extreme GT Championship, where there are practically no cars with less than 1000 horsepower.

The Huracan LP1200 retains the original carbon composite and aluminum construction, but gets a new body, also made of composite materials. More than 500 components and parts that the Norwegians have replaced in the chassis and drive system of the car. Adding two turbines to make the 5,2-liter V10 power exactly 1200 horsepower.

The nearly 100% increase in power is attributed to improved fuel injection systems, new oil coolers, more efficient radiators and a Motec ECM. The new body is not an end in itself; its aerodynamic package provides better traction than the Huracan Trofeo. Zyrus has announced the car weighs 1200kg, which means a 1: 1 weight to power ratio.

Other features of the car are Ohlins shock absorbers, carbon brakes, wheels now have one central nut, Xtrac sequential gearbox. There is also a system for collecting and transmitting information in real time - both to the driver and the team in the box.

At the moment, only one tracked example of the Zyrus series is ready, but it is clear that the vehicles that will be for public roads will be based on the Performante variant. The finished prototype has already been used in the Spa and Nürburgring tests. British driver Oliver Webb drives the Northern Arc, which, despite having to deal with traffic jams, clocked 6.48 minutes per lap.
